Jeff and Loretta Flack owners of Roxxi and LuLu’s Bistro and Bakery and The November Room, have moved and revamped their artisan market previously on Market Street to Main Street. The Artisan Market, called The November Room, is a place where people can come to shop for handcrafted products and relax with friends. It almost reminds you of an Etsy storefront.
The idea of The November Room came from Loretta’s love of working with furniture because it was something she did with her father and Jeff was really good with woodworking. It’s something they both enjoy doing when they have time. “I love to repurpose furniture because it takes some of the stress away from the restaurant business”, says Loretta. The couple already knew that they wanted the word “November” to be in the name because they were married in November but Jeff says that the idea for The November Room began as a joke. “We just had a basement full of stuff and stuff hanging all over the walls that we had made over the years and I said ‘we just need to open a store and sell some of this stuff.’”
Business wasn’t as booming as they had wanted it to be at the Market Street location and they had people asking if they would consign their items. That’s when they came up with the idea to do something different. At The November Room you will find 15 different types of vendors from surrounding areas, plenty of seating, an area where they serve specialty coffees (Cuban coffees, etc), and also an area to buy local wines and craft beers.
Vendors Include: The Farmer’s Daughter - soy candles
Rabbit Gum Designs – salvaged wood furnishing and decor
The Gathering Shop - Be.You Fashion Boutique and Jin’s Art Studio
Alli’s Korner, LLC - accessories
Feeling Groovy Body Care – handmade organic soaps and lotions

Daffodil Creek – one of a kind photography and home goods
The Posh Fox – clothing accessories and decor

The main goal of The November Room is to bring more people, locals and tourists, to the downtown area. “The downtown concept has been surging for quite a while, and downtowns have been trying to make a come back.” But also, they want to help the vendors. Their thoughts is that if they help these vendors to get foot traffic, they might want to open up their own store here in Elkin.
The November Room is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon until 8pm and Friday and Saturday from noon until 10pm. They have already had a soft opening but their grand opening will be November 17th.
